Keyboard and focus
Can every link, menu, form and dialog be used without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator and a logical order?
A digital accessibility audit checks your website, shop or web app against WCAG 2.2 level AA and shows what stops people with disabilities from using it. Metanow tests manually and with tools, explains every issue and helps your team fix it.
With the European Accessibility Act in force since June 2025, accessibility is now a legal topic for many online businesses, not only a nice-to-have.

The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) applies from 28 June 2025. It covers many consumer-facing digital services, including e-commerce, online banking, e-books, transport ticketing and electronic communications. National laws, such as the German BFSG, put it into practice.
In practice, websites and apps are measured against the harmonised standard EN 301 549, which refers to WCAG success criteria at level AA. Microenterprises that provide services are exempt, but accessible sites work better for everyone, including search engines and older users.
We test against WCAG 2.2 level AA on a representative sample of your pages and key user journeys.
Can every link, menu, form and dialog be used without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator and a logical order?
We test key journeys with screen readers such as NVDA and VoiceOver: headings, landmarks, labels, alt text and announcements.
Text, icons and focus states checked against WCAG contrast requirements, including hover and error states.
Labels, instructions, error messages and required fields that everyone can understand and correct.
Heading structure, link text, language settings, captions for video and meaningful alternative text.
Pages at 200% and 400% zoom and on mobile, without lost content or sideways scrolling.
We agree the pages, templates and user journeys to test, for example search, product page, checkout and account.
Automated scans find the quick wins; manual testing with keyboard and screen readers finds what tools miss.
You receive the report and we walk your team through the findings in a call.
Your developers or Metanow fix the issues, then we retest and update the report.
Send us your website or app and the journeys that matter most. We will propose a scope for the audit.

It applies to many consumer-facing digital services in the EU, such as online shops, banking and booking services, from 28 June 2025. Microenterprises providing services are exempt. We can help you assess your situation, but we are not a law firm, so please confirm legal obligations with your legal adviser.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are the international standard for accessible web content. Version 2.2 is the current version, and level AA is the level most laws and standards refer to.
No. Automated tools only catch part of the issues. Keyboard use, screen reader output and whether content makes sense need manual testing, which is why we combine both.
A widget can help some visitors adjust how a page looks, but it does not fix problems in the underlying code. The audit finds those problems so they can be fixed properly.
Yes. Metanow builds websites and apps on WordPress, Shopify, Next.js, Odoo and Laravel, so we can implement the fixes and then retest.
Send us your site and the journeys that matter most using the form on this page. We agree the scope with you first and then send a proposal.
