The client & summary
ZAG Automobile is a used car dealership in the Zollernalbkreis region of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The owner had built a first website with an AI coding tool and needed it recreated in WordPress, matching the design, layout and functionality one-to-one, and launched live.
The challenge
The vehicle stock is the most important part of the site: listings come from mobile.de and had to display cleanly on desktop and mobile, whether there are three vehicles or many more. The owner also had detailed expectations for consistency, from one typeface across the site to equal-height review cards.
Our solution
Our team rebuilt and launched the site in about three weeks, from 22 June to 15 July 2026.
Discovery and scope
The brief asked for a one-to-one WordPress version of the existing site, with a local dealership site as an additional example.
Design
The first draft was ready on 26 June 2026. The first revision adjusted the logo and menu icon, restored the brand logos as an automatic slider and refined the calls to action. The second unified the typeface across the site and reworked the vehicle stock and how listing links open. The third made the Google review cards the same height on mobile, with automatic sliding every four to five seconds.
Build and launch
The site runs on WordPress with Elementor and JetEngine, with a vehicle stock section linked to mobile.de that scales with new listings, Google review cards, image sliders and pop-up elements. The fourth round aligned hero heights and image details, and the site went live on 15 July 2026.
Challenges we solved
Consistency across devices: hero sizes, fonts and card heights were aligned so the site feels as polished on mobile as on desktop.
From prototype to WordPress
The owner had already built a prototype of the site with HTML, CSS and JavaScript and a small server script that handled the vehicle purchase form, email sending and the mobile.de connection. The task was to recreate it one to one in WordPress, keeping the design, layout and functionality, and take it live. Our team rebuilt the purchase form and the vehicle inventory so they run inside WordPress.
Design principles
The brief described a clear visual language: plenty of white space, few but strong texts instead of long paragraphs, clean image edges and high-quality photos, no overloaded tile layouts, a strong black-and-white base with warm restraint, and buttons that are clear but not aggressive.
Revision details
In the first round the logo moved slightly left with the company name beside it, the menu icon became rounder and more modern, and the "All vehicles on mobile.de" call to action became a clear button. The second round tackled the vehicle stock: listing links had opened an English-language page, so our team changed how they open. The third round set the Google reviews to slide automatically every few seconds on desktop and mobile. In the fourth, the slide behaviour was made smoother, the homepage hero was matched to the height of the other pages and the hero images were cleaned up.
