The Digital Presence of Whatever Culture – Metanow portfolio

    The Brand

Whatever Culture is a Swiss-based lifestyle brand that bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and modern urban trends. Specializing in premium spirits (notably high-quality whiskey), contemporary fashion, and art curation, the brand targets a discerning audience that values authenticity and high-end design.

    The Challenges

The primary challenge for Whatever Culture was to create a digital ecosystem that could house three very different product pillars—alcohol, apparel, and art—under a single, cohesive identity. The brand needed a platform that felt as premium as a boutique whiskey bar while remaining as edgy as a streetwear label. Key requirements included:

Segmented User Journeys: Creating a seamless way for users to explore luxury spirits and fashion without the experience feeling cluttered.

Visual Storytelling: Transmitting the "Whatever" philosophy—a mix of effortless cool and Swiss precision—through a high-impact visual interface.

Market Authority: Establishing the brand as a serious player in the competitive Swiss consumer goods market.

    The Solution & Execution

We developed a sophisticated digital platform designed to act as a virtual flagship store and cultural hub. The solution focused on a "minimalist-luxe" aesthetic, utilizing high-resolution imagery and a clean typography hierarchy to allow the products to speak for themselves.

Curated Product Showcasing: We implemented a modular layout that allows the brand to feature limited-edition whiskey releases alongside seasonal fashion drops, ensuring both categories get equal prominence.

Brand-First Narrative: Instead of a standard e-commerce feel, the site uses a "lookbook" style approach, integrating art and culture into the shopping experience to build a lifestyle community rather than just a customer base.

Mobile-Optimized Experience: Recognizing the target demographic’s behavior, the platform was engineered for high performance on mobile devices, ensuring smooth navigation through the brand’s diverse portfolio on the go.

    The Impact

The result is a powerful digital foundation that successfully positions Whatever Culture as a leader in the Swiss lifestyle sector. The platform not only serves as a distribution channel for their premium goods but also functions as a central narrative engine for their growing cultural influence in the Zug region and beyond.

    How we built it

Our team built the website between January and March 2026.

    Minimal design with a shop

The brief asked for a minimalist, cool look with scrolling and hover effects. The menu stays short (Main, Products, Store, Team, Contact), and Products splits into the spirits and clothing lines, each with its own product page. The WooCommerce store lets the team add clothing items and details themselves.

    Recipes, team and age gate

A recipes page presents cocktails with their own videos, a team page introduces the people behind the brand, and an age gate asks visitors to confirm their age before entering, as is standard for spirits brands. After six revision rounds the site was migrated in March 2026, and our team recorded short video tutorials so the brand can update videos and products.

    Frequently asked questions

Why does the website have an age gate?

Because the brand sells spirits, visitors confirm their age before entering the site.

Can the brand add products itself?

Yes. Products and details are managed in WooCommerce, and our team recorded video tutorials for updates.

How long did the project take?

From the first draft in January 2026 to the migration in March 2026, with six revision rounds.
