The client & summary
Rental Services is a vehicle rental business in Phuket, Thailand, offering cars, motorbikes and boats. The core objective was an online rental shop inspired by major car-rental brands, in four languages and currencies, that its own team could manage without developer help.
The challenge
The site had to handle international tourists in English, Russian, Chinese and Thai, show prices in several currencies with short labels, take bookings with dates and extras, and let customers create accounts to view their bookings. The team also wanted full control over the backend.
Our solution
Our team worked on the platform between August 2025 and April 2026, over ten revision rounds.
Booking experience
The site lists vehicles in three categories, cars, motorcycles, and boats and yachts, with online booking, date selection and checkout. Extras such as baby seats were moved from checkout into the product configurator as a drop-down so they are priced correctly. A search box follows the visitor while scrolling, as on large rental sites.
Languages and currencies
Our team set up English, Russian, Chinese and Thai, and a currency switcher showing USD, Euro, Ruble, Baht and Yuan with short labels, placed on the left on desktop so it does not block scrolling and on the right on mobile.
Content and handover
Vehicle images and details were uploaded from the client's fleet list, the office address was added throughout, and tutorials were prepared so the team can add vehicles and manage bookings. The site was migrated to its live domain in spring 2026, followed by support fixes.
Challenges we solved
Many small details on mobile: contrast, button overlap and box alignment were refined round by round until the booking flow worked cleanly on phones.
Requirements from the brief
The brief asked for full control of content in the backend, customer accounts where users can view and manage their bookings, prices in several currencies and an email notification with the booking details whenever an order is placed, so the team can track reservations. It also described a booking agreement pre-filled from the customer's registration data and accepted with each new booking, an internal flag for sub-leased vehicles that is visible only to administrators, and role-based access for different staff levels.
Details that make booking easier
The phone field offers an international area code drop-down, similar to messaging apps, since many customers are tourists. The terms and conditions link was made blue, underlined and slightly bold so it is obvious that it can be clicked. Prices were removed from the calendars, leaving only the dates, and the logo was enlarged so it no longer overlaps other elements.
Locations and imagery
Pick-up and drop-off locations are labelled clearly, and the office is marked on the map. On the homepage, the car at the top was replaced with an image of two hands exchanging keys, and our team showed the client where images can be changed in the backend without breaking the layout.
Fleet upload
Vehicle photos were named after each vehicle and colour and matched to the client's fleet spreadsheet, so every listing shows the right images and details.
