The client & summary
Racentis is a B2B supplier of equipment, supplies and promotional materials for endurance sports events such as marathons, triathlons and cycling races. The core objective was a modern e-commerce website that presents its large product range, supports both direct orders and quote requests, and works in German and English.
The challenge
The company's previous site was built in Wix and served as a reference for structure and content, but texts and images were not final at the start. Some products can be bought directly while others need a custom quote, so the shop had to handle both on a product-by-product basis.
Our solution
Our team built the shop between June and August 2026.
Discovery and scope
The brief listed three event supply shops as references, with one design the client liked most, and asked for a modern B2B shop for racentis.com.
Design
The first draft was ready on 17 June 2026. Two revision rounds applied the client's change documents: brand name corrections, removing opening hours and location details, and translating and styling the English shipping page to match the German version.
Build and launch
The shop runs on Shopify with custom Liquid templates. When a product carries an inquiry tag, its page shows an inquiry form that sends a structured email with the product details; other products can be ordered directly. German and English versions have working product filters, and the cookie banner was extended to show for visitors from all countries. The shop moved to racentis.com in August 2026.
Challenges we solved
Two buying paths in one shop: a simple product tag decides whether a customer orders or requests a quote.
Product range and scope
Racentis supplies organisers of endurance sports events. The range covers swimming, cycling, running and triathlon accessories and textiles, as well as event and merchandising articles. The brief included a newsletter sign-up and a customer feedback section to support marketing and engagement. Advanced product personalisation tools were deliberately left out of the current scope.
Shop structure
The shop is organised around products for your event and the brands the company carries, with a sustainability page, an about page, contact and a single product template. The legal side of a German shop is covered with pages for the imprint, terms and conditions, privacy, cookies, shipping and the right of withdrawal, including a withdrawal button. The previous site's structure and content served as the starting point, with placeholders used until final texts and images were ready.
Working through change documents
The client collected feedback in change documents, one per revision round, which our team worked through point by point in the Shopify theme.
