The client & summary
Mepexna is a digital platform for documenting employees' and freelancers' exposure to hazardous substances. The core objective was a functional MVP with secure onboarding, a searchable hazardous substances database, approval workflows and integrated B2B billing.
The challenge
Users need to record substances, location, activity and duration on site from their phones, identities must be verified, businesses must approve entries, and billing had to run automatically for organisations.
Our solution
Our team designed and built the MVP between March and September 2026.
Platform design
The web app includes a dashboard, hazardous substances, exposure recording with view, approve and reject actions, billing, members and organisation management, invitations and a profile. Marketing pages were designed from a template.
Onboarding and data
Registration requires SMS verification with a one-time code. Users select a hazardous substance by typing, with the database loaded through an API from the client's substance list.
Billing and infrastructure
Stripe handles B2B billing for organisations, transactional emails are sent automatically, and the platform runs on a production server with object storage on Hetzner Cloud.

Mobile-first documentation: the interface is optimised so workers can record exposures directly on site.
MVP scope
The Light Edition MVP was defined around a few essentials: secure onboarding with mandatory SMS verification, a mobile-first interface for recording hazardous substances, location, activity and duration directly on site, and a basic database of hazardous substances, particularly categories 1A and 1B. Users see their personal history in a clear list and can generate a PDF of their exposure data in one click.
For employers
Companies get an admin dashboard to manage employee accounts and invitations. Access is locked or granted automatically based on the current payment status, and employee exposure data can be exported to Excel for internal documentation. Organisation settings sit in the admin profile rather than in the main navigation.
Refinements from feedback
Feedback rounds simplified onboarding: users who arrive through an email invitation skip the choice between company and private person. The client later supplied an updated hazardous substances database, which was loaded into the platform, and the marketing pages were designed from a template.
