The client & summary
Katja Schäfer is a German coach and consultant for leaders and management teams, focusing on leadership, change and conflict resolution. The core objective was a website with clear personal positioning and a strong leadership focus, professional and confident rather than friendly, in German and English.
The challenge
The brief analysed several reference sites, noting what to adopt and what to avoid. The site also had to integrate a newsletter from an external tool, send contact form emails reliably and move from a development subdomain to the live domain.
Our solution
Our team worked on the website between May and September 2026.
Design
The first draft was ready on 23 May 2026. Over four revision rounds our team adjusted the logo colours for readability, restructured content, replaced images and videos to create a more serious business tone, corrected the size and brightness of client photos and laid out trust icons and client photos evenly in the footer.
Content
The site covers leadership and collaboration, coaching, workshops, a business bootcamp, change and conflict, keynotes, publications, blog, podcast, press and a book.
Languages and launch
The English version was translated and a language switcher added. Before go-live our team integrated the newsletter sign-up form, set up SMTP for the contact form, updated plugins and migrated the site from the development subdomain to katja-schaefer.de.
Learning from reference sites
The brief listed several consulting websites with notes on what to adopt and what to avoid. The client liked clarity, a leadership focus and strong personal positioning, a focus on management teams and conflict resolution, a systemic perspective that suits engineering and IT clients, and a clear structure with a professional tone. Things to avoid included an embedded calendar, dark green and ochre colours, chaotic scrolling and text-heavy descriptions.
From prototype to full site
The homepage design was supplied as a clickable prototype. Our team built it in Elementor and designed the remaining pages consistently in the same style. The existing brand was professionalised under the primary name Katja Schäfer, with the aim of generating leads and building authority.
Revision details
In the revision rounds the headline was shortened, unclear wording was clarified, and the green border around a portrait was removed so the image matches the full-width dark sections. The client also spotted that the grey text in one list had a slightly different transparency from the rest of the site, which reduced contrast; our team aligned the grey tones. A certification badge was added to the footer.
Licensing-driven changes
At the client's request, the previous academy page was not carried over to the new site, for licensing reasons. The new page structure covers coaching, workshops, keynotes, the vision journey, an about page, blog, podcast, press, the book and contact, plus the legal pages.
