The client & summary
genusswärts is a Swiss company from Stans that offers curated luxury trips, exclusive culinary events and a selection of specialty products, with a community built around its "Genussletter" newsletter. The core objective was a premium website that presents trips and events in an inspiring way and lets guests book and pay online.
The challenge
The brand had no website yet. It needed pages that feel as refined as the experiences it sells, a clear way to present trips, day excursions and events, a shop for specialty products and a newsletter sign-up. In a second step, bookings for fixed-date trips and events had to work reliably: several participants per booking, capacity limits, vouchers and Swiss payment methods, all with a lean plugin setup that stays easy to maintain.
Our solution
Our team delivered the website in spring 2026 and the booking shop as a follow-up project in summer 2026.
Discovery and scope
The brief in March 2026 asked for a professional website for a luxury travel and gourmet experiences company, with curated trips, exclusive events, a specialty product shop and a newsletter subscription. The later shop brief added concrete booking rules: templates for different offer types, participant details per person and automatic capacity management to prevent overbooking.
Design
After the first draft at the end of March, the client sent detailed correction files in five revision rounds between April and early May 2026. Changes covered imagery, the logo, the contact button and the navigation, which the client explicitly wanted as a compact three-line menu on the right. The last round was combined with the migration to genusswaerts.ch.
Build and launch
The site runs on WordPress with Elementor. Pages for trips, events, current offers and the company story sit alongside a newsletter sign-up set up with MailPoet. During the migration our team also helped with mail and DNS settings at the client's host.
Phase two: booking shop
In July 2026 we set up WooCommerce as the booking system. Our team created product templates for multi-day trips, day excursions and events so new offers can be published by duplicating a template, added discounts restricted to specific products, installed the Swiss payment plugin with TWINT and PayPal for the client to configure, and added ticket validation by QR code. A revision in August connected the "Buchen" buttons directly to the cart and checkout.
Challenges we solved
Combining storytelling and e-commerce without clutter was the recurring theme. Keeping the plugin stack minimal, as the brief required, while still supporting multi-participant bookings, capacity limits and QR tickets took careful choices.
