    Challenges

Africon, a consulting firm specializing in African markets, needed a website that effectively communicated its expertise and services to a global audience. The primary challenge was to create a platform that showcased Africon’s extensive market knowledge, project portfolio, and services in a professional yet engaging manner. Additionally, the website had to cater to a diverse audience, including international investors, businesses, and organizations seeking opportunities in Africa. A key requirement was to deliver a responsive, visually appealing, and user-friendly site with advanced functionalities for content management and audience engagement.

    Africon’s digital transformation

    Our process

We started by gaining a deep understanding of Africon’s mission, audience, and business objectives. Using this insight, we designed a sleek and modern website that emphasized professionalism while maintaining a global appeal. The layout was structured to highlight Africon’s core services, market expertise, and success stories.

The website was developed with a strong focus on usability, ensuring that visitors could easily navigate through various sections, including case studies, market reports, and service offerings. We integrated a dynamic content management system (CMS) to enable Africon’s team to update their website effortlessly. Additionally, interactive elements were added to enhance user engagement, such as a searchable database for reports and a contact form connected to a CRM system for streamlined lead management.

    Results

The website successfully positions Africon as a trusted authority in African markets. It provides a seamless experience for visitors, allowing them to explore case studies, download market reports, and connect with Africon’s team effortlessly. Since its launch, the website has seen increased traffic and engagement, with a significant uptick in inquiries from international businesses and investors.

“ Working with Gleni was great, and he was very patient and understood our project deeply. He made edits very quickly and was responsive. Overall, he is a great communicator, and we look forward to working with him again on the project’s next phase. We liked the delivery, professionalism and knowledge of the subject matter. Thanks. ”

How we built the new africon.de

In 2026 our team rebuilt africon.de from the ground up. The relaunch ran from a brief in March to go-live in July, followed by a support phase. Here is how it came together.

    Discovery and scope

The previous installation had accumulated plugin conflicts and multilingual display issues, so the brief was to start from a fresh WordPress core and import only cleaned content: posts, pages and media. Existing English, German and French translations had to be preserved, and SEO metadata carried over. The design goal was the clean, structured, data-forward style of leading international consultancies, anchored in africon's existing brand colours.

    Design

africon shared an updated service portfolio and a new homepage direction built around a strong positioning line. Across the design rounds the look became calmer and more consistent: grey and beige tones instead of black, uniform fonts and boxes, fewer and more consistently sized images, and the brand name always in lowercase. A later round reduced long text blocks in favour of cards and image-and-text layouts, with more business and industry imagery.

    Build and stack

The site runs on WordPress with Elementor Pro and a three-language setup (EN, DE, FR). Inquiries go through a Typeform flow. Once the page designs were approved, our team built the remaining pages, including events, references and a Slide of the Month archive, imported all existing posts, sorted them by language, completed the translations and configured the language switcher.

    Content and launch

Before launch, News and Slide of the Month were split into separate sections, and a new africon insights area was added for publications. A market-entry landing page and a referral call-to-action with a preview-before-download option followed. The new site went live on africon.de in July 2026. The handover included a feedback implementation document, a post audit spreadsheet and video tutorials for adding and translating posts.

    Challenges we solved

Beyond balancing a minimalist look with pages that are easy to scan, the site needed AI-generated images to be labelled clearly. Our team labelled the AI images in all three languages, in line with the transparency requirements of the EU AI Act.

    Technology stack

    • WordPress (fresh core)
    • Elementor Pro
    • Trilingual setup: English, German and French
    • Typeform for inquiries
    • Loom video tutorials for the handover

    Results of the 2026 relaunch

    • About four months from kickoff (March 2026) to launch on africon.de (July 2026).
    • Three languages: English, German and French, with the existing posts imported and assigned to their languages.
    • New structure with separate News, africon insights (publications) and Slide of the Month sections, plus events and references pages.
    • A market-entry landing page and a referral call-to-action with preview before download.
    • AI-generated images labelled in all three languages.
    • The africon team can add and translate posts themselves, guided by video tutorials.

    Frequently asked questions

How long did the africon.de relaunch take?

About four months from brief to launch: the project started in March 2026 and the new site went live in July 2026. Refinements continued under a support retainer into September 2026.

Which platform does the new africon website use?

WordPress on a fresh core with Elementor Pro, a trilingual setup in English, German and French, and Typeform for inquiries.

    Was the existing content kept?

Yes. Posts, pages and media were imported into the new build after cleanup, and the posts were assigned to their languages.

Can the africon team update the site themselves?

Yes. News, publications and Slide of the Month are separate sections, and the handover included video tutorials on adding and translating posts.

Is the site supported after launch?

Yes. After go-live we continued under a retainer, for example connecting the inquiry form to africon's mailbox, tidying team bios by language and labelling AI-generated images.
